Punjab starts getting hydro power profit

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has started paying Punjab the net profit earned from hydro power projects, ARY NEWS reported.

Punjab Minister for Finance, Planning and Development Tanvir Ashraf Kaira confirming the recovery, said the federal government would give the installment of Rs 4.83 billion every year to the province.

He said the issue of Ghazi Barotha power project’s royalty had been a dispute between province and the federal government for years “which have been resolved.” Now Punjab would get 28 billion rupees in this regard, he added.
