Yarn Crisis: Thousands power looms shutdown

KARACHI: Thousands power looms have suspended their operations throughout the country after cotton yarn scarcity, industry sources said.

Talking to ARY News, the sources said that unrestrained exports have caused the thread crisis in the country and thousands small factories have been closed and hundreds of thousands daily wagers have lost jobs.

The exporters have said several countries have placed orders for cotton and cotton yarn due to decrease in global crop and hike in prices and around 8,00,000 cotton bales have been exported.
